Rick's truck was obviously headed for stardom, but he still wasn't finished with his beast. Under the hood needed some love and attention as well, so Rick tore things apart to add the necessary dress-up that's needed to win shows. First Rick had a massive amount of items chromed including the ABS bracket, water neck, idler pulley, power steering pulley and both throttle cable brackets. Next on Rick's list were the items that he would polish out to a high gloss shine including the oil and radiator caps, A/C clutch cover, master cylinder cover, A/C lines, alternator, belt tensioner and all mounting hardware. Chrome and polished parts and pieces don't look good unless you compliment them with painted pieces as well, so Rick painted the A/C compressor, A/C and alternator engine brackets and the power steering filler tube. Rick not being able to leave well enough alone decided a few items also needed to be added to give his stock 4.3 liter V6 a little more "get up and go." First, Rick installed a TBI spacer and GMS mass airflow sensor.

Next, he added a K&N air filter and then used a Power Programmer to tweak the S-10's computer for better performance. Keeping the power to the road comes from a Center Force dual friction clutch and an Auburn Gear Pro Posi, complete with 3:73 gearing. Allowing the S-10 to breath comes from a custom exhaust, including a custom y-pipe, which is strategically placed so Rick can drag his S-10. A Flowmaster muffler gives Rick's S-10 a more throaty, meaner sound. Rick's best time at the track to date has been a 15.2 at 91 MPH. Rick would like to give a special thanks to Adam Knape for all his hard work to get his S-10 completed. He would also like to thank all his Negative Camber friends who helped out, including Steven Melton and Chad McDonald.
