With the bodywork complete, Rick decided it was time to move to the suspension aspect of his S-10. Rick likes attention and the best way to get attention is to be low. You see, Rick's not scared to drag. He needed someone to help him get his S-10 to a ground-dragging stance.

Adam Knape of Alvin, Texas stepped up to the plate to do just that. To get things started, Adam installed a set of Bell Tech 2" drop spindles, then installed a set of 3/8 ported Firestone 224c bags in the front to get enough lift to drive. Adam next notched the lower control arms, which allows the Doetech shocks to fit nicely in the front of Rick's S-10, still allowing full turning radius.
Moving to the rear, Adam installed a chrome Pete and Jakes triangulated 4-link, in the reverse position. Next, Adam performed a much-needed six-inch step-notch and bridge, allowing the Firestone 224c bags to be mounted in the rear.

Smoothing out the ride in the back is a set of chrome Dostech shocks. The entire system runs off of eight SMC electric valves and nitrogen, mounted in a custom fabricated bracket in the bed, created and installed by the owner himself. Using large 3/8" and ½" airline throughout the system, while being controlled by a four door power window switch cluster from a Chevy Blazer. Rick's system can be used as four wheel independent or by front and rear, simply by flipping the window lockout switch. The switches are mounted in the driver's side door to allow easy adjustment.
