Now that Mike had the car in hand, it was time to get busy on the suspension. To get the car to a new height, a set of Ground Control coil-overs were installed. Stopping the speed demon on a dime comes from the help of AEM front brakes along with Power Stop rear brakes. Helping to hook up the stiffness on the corners, Mike decided to install front and rear sway bars from S&P Tech. With top speeds of 140 mph, the suspension would pay a major roll in any race. The only tracks in Mike’s area are an 1/8mile track were his best time is 8.4 at 81 mph.

It was now time to hook up the stock 2.3-liter engine up with some serious mods. To begin, Mike added pistons with 10.1 compression. The next step would be give the engine a 3-angle valve job and keeping the stock guides. After the valve job, it was time to port and polish the head and intake manifold along with other headwork by Shacklet Auto.
