With the body now smoothed and painted, Matt wanted to get busy on the ride height of his Jimmy. Seeming that he worked at a custom shop where the specialty was everything, this chore would prove to be pretty smooth. Starting with the front, 224 Firestone airbags along with Toxic shocks and 2 inch Belltech spindles were installed. With the front sitting at comfortable height, it was time to move on to the rear. To get the rear the way Matt wanted it, the rear frame was sectioned and boxed with a custom 2x4 frame. After the frame was welded back together, it was then smoothed and painted silver, which Matt handled himself. The next step was to add the custom ladder bars along with a custom panhard bar. Now, to get the rear to adjust with the front, a set of 224 Firestone airbags along with Toxic shocks where used. In order to get the bags in working status, Firestone compressors and ½ inch fast valves with 3/8 inch airline were used. After getting the new, freshly painted frame to lay flat on the ground, the next step would be to lay the body right along with it. With the help of Eric Arrington, Owner of KustomWerks in Union City, TN, a 4 ½ inch body drop was performed. There were plenty of noticeable fabrications that needed to be done to make Matt’s Jimmy lay. In order to get the 18x7 inch Niche Shocks with 215-35-18 inch Nitto’s to tuck, the rear wheel wells needed to be tubbed. Along with tubbing out the rear, a custom floor board was needed as well. To get the front of the body to lay flat, the fire wall was notched and smoothed out and the inner finder wells were removed. Now that the body was even with the frame, that wasn’t all that was needed to make the Jimmy drivable.

Another aspect of this body drop was to custom build a twelve gallon gas tank, which was placed in the stock location.
