Once I figured where I wanted to be I measured to make sure it was even on all sides and placed the template there. Next I traced around the template so I would have a cut line. After removing the taped on template to reveal the cut line it was time to drill the holes on the corners so that we could begin cutting the roof.

I started on each corner with a 1/8” hole. From there I drilled the hole out to ½”. You want to be careful not to drill the hole to close to the line because you don’t want it to overlap the cut line. The holes allow you to get started and are also so that the blades to cut into the roof without snapping them around the corners and it is just a lot easier on yourself. Next cut out the hole, I have heard mixed views with this.
