Now that the basics were out of the way, it was time to introduce a new idea to the 4x4 scene. For starters, a custom 2-½" four link along with 1 ¼" QA1 heims joints with Meziere misalignment spacers and clevises were fabricated and installed. Providing less movement, an array of Energy Suspension orange bushing were installed throughout the entire undercarriage. Air bags mounts were then strategically fabricated, front and rear. Yep, I said bag mounts - provided by Air Ride Technologies. With the bags in place, Ride Pro digital gauges were installed in the cab to keep an eye on air levels at all time.

To provide the lift, four large, heavy-duty compressors were installed to fill the three two gallon air tanks. To assure quick lift, 16 EAI ½" port solenoids were installed, allowing quick release of the stored air to fill the huge air bags found beneath this huge Excursion. Helping the overall ride, 2 ½" Sway-A-Way shocks were installed, two per wheel, along with Sway-A-Way hydraulic bump stops. With a vehicle this large, you have to do whatever possible to prevent sway. Keeping this in mind, Craig's decision was easy. His choice was to install 1 ½" front and rear Sway-A-Way power bars.
