Step 16 I am locating my hidden antenna to my passenger side A pillar for two reasons. One, it doesnt fit above the rearview because I have power wires running to the mirror, and two, I dont want to see it on my window. While it is made to mount on your window, you can put it wherever you like. The A pillar is not an optimum place to put it because it is close to the body of the vehicle, but I don't really care. Start by pulling the molding off the A pillar. It is held on with three clips. If it is tough, use the panel removal tool to wedge it apart. Mine popped right off. Step 17 Start running the new antenna wire down the A pillar, underneath the dash, and towards the middle of the truck. This is where we make it easy for ourselves. With the OE antenna wire still in the dash, remove both clips off of it, and cut the wire long where the foil shield is wrapped around it. Remove the rubber grommet off the wire. At this point I still had a gaping hole in my firewall where the antenna used to pass through, so I filled the center of the grommet with clear silicone, and put it back in the firewall. That way, there is always another hole you can use to run wire into the cab, and I know I'm going to use it when I put the stereo in.

Step 18 Now I tried sticking my arm up the dash to run the new antenna wire, but there is just way too much crap in there. A much easier thing to do is to "fish" the wire up. This is accomplished by laying the old OE wire on top of the new antenna wire, and taping them securly together. Now pull the old wire up out of the dash, and while your doing that, the new wire comes with it. Wow! Aren't we glad we didn't pull it out earlier. And the new wire runs exactly the same way the old wire ran, so there should be no interference with anything. Step 19 Now that the new wire is where we want it to be, it needs to be connected. The new antenna wire has a positive lead that should be connected to a switched on source, because the hidden antenna has a built in amplifier. I connected it to the switched on source for the radio with a squeeze together "T" splice, and plugged the antenna into it's jack.
