First, the extended cab corner and bedside had to be replaced. Next, the gas door was shaved and the filler moved to the fender well. Then, the antenna and windshield squirters were shaved. Express Auto Body also flipped the tailgate handle, smoothed the rear of Stephen's bed and molded in a steel rollpan. Not being able to leave well enough alone, the bed floor was smoothed and the rear quarter panels from another Tacoma were molded to the inside of the bed, so that the bodyline followed inside the bed as well.

Up front, a bumper from a '97 Tacoma was bolted up and a billet grille along with an air-dam insert was installed. Bodywork complete, Stephen moved to the next phase of this fast build-up - the paint. To handle this, the owner took matters into his own hands, with the help of Express Auto Body again. Starting with a nice bright base, ICI Auto-color Mazda Competition Yellow was applied to every panel of Stephen's Taco. Bright enough to blind even a blind man, that wasn't good enough for Stephen though, so tribal flames were laid down to the front of his Taco using ICI Gold with Blue Pearl.
