In March of 2000, after dropping down a cool $30,000 to purchase his step-side and to please the powers that be, it took 9 short months to complete and run wild on the show fields. With the words of prayer and help from the lord, Shawn would find the build up a smooth one. Knowing that the clean smooth look Shawn had in mind, many items would be color matched instead of removed to keep things a little different then what people were used to seeing. After pulling off the front bumper cover along with the door handles they would then be prepped and color matched Dupont Toreador red along with the inner wheel wells.

To accompany the now painted front bumper, the stock grille would be replaced with one of a custom billet fashion. To help bring a clean front end look altogether, a set of clear corner lenses would also be installed. Working to the rear of the step-side, Shawn would have the antenna, emblems along with the windshield cowl shaved, smoothed and painted. Adding a set of billet wipers, it was time to move on towards the rear. With the installation of a fiberglass bedcover color matched to the exterior of the truck, it would give Shawn's step-side a clean appearance. Next the rear bumper would be replaced in favor of a roll pan, which would be molded into place. After the roll pan was in place, the tailgate would be shaved and the ass end repainted to match.
