As I sit here on this long ass flight home, many things wonder through my mind. For instance, there are many Territories and Country’s out there that does not quite have the same resources for customizing phat rides like we do here in the states. So after pondering these thoughts what it all comes down to is that they have to depend on their own ideas and knowledge to get to the customizing expertise we come to expect. While in Guam (which for those of you that don’t know it is a small tropical island in the middle of the Pacific) Kris and I had the pleasure of meeting many customizing enthusiasts. While originally building rides, more towards the “lowrider” scene, it seems that the island folk of Guam are now swinging towards the minitruck and Import scene. At an attempt to catch up with the ”Mainland” style, we have to say that they are well on their way. After arriving early Wednesday morning, we decided to hit the hotel to get some sleep in order to escape jet lag so we could enjoy our stay. Needless to say the morning came quicker then we had hoped for. Although we were on a tropical Island with many beautiful women out and about, the first couple days were nothing but business. Claudia from Auto Innovations (who threw the show and helped get us to Guam) failed to mention that when we were to arrive at here shop that the local newspaper would be awaiting to do an interview. We later thanked her for the surprise, then she responded with “Oh and you guys have a interview on the radio in the morning.” Oh gee thanks! Haha… actually it ended up being pretty cool, and we hope to get a copy of the interview at some point in time and will put it online for all to listen to. After taking care of the normal business, it was time to hit the night scene. And what a Night scene Guam has. The clubs stay open till about 4:30 in the morning, and with the locals and tourists together, they sure do know how to party. We found that pimpin’ on the Island wasn’t difficult till you tried to hold a conversation. (Note to self, next time bring a Japanese/English translator) After a night of dancing, most of the crowd heads to a couple of strip clubs to watch some killer dance moves. To our surprise, there where an equal amount of ladies in the room observing as there were guys. At one point a lady was pulled on stage and stripped. After she sat down, she then found herself back on stage trying to earn a few extra bucks for some drinks.

The day of the show came quickly, and the one-day that Mother Nature decided to frown upon us had to be that same day. As Kris and I finally pulled our lazy ass’s out of bed and headed to the show, we found that the closer we came to the show grounds the more it was raining. Needless to say that it pretty much rained all day long until the show was over. Here is where we noticed a difference between the island and the mainland. As it kept raining, spectators were still pulling in and checking the rides out. The burn out contest still went on along with all of the hydraulic and 4x4 competitions. It was crazy. We managed to muster up a couple of umbrellas so we were not to melt, and proceeded to bring all of you coverage of the show. The Import cars seem to dominate the show ground, but from what we understand the minitruck scene is on a major incline and from what we saw throughout the week I can’t wait to go back to see the progress. Although it rained all during the show, I know that I myself wouldn’t mind going back again for the 2nd annual Radical Rides show. We had a blast while down there and everyone was totally cool. A special thanks goes out to the crew from Auto Innovationz for setting everything up to get us out there, and to all of those that took us clubbin’ and translated the foreign language of the other tourists.
