Well, here it is November 2000, and if you're like me you're wondering where the year went. For most of us into mini's, fullsizes, and imports, it's time to settle in for the winter and hopefully get our new modifications done for next show season. For some, though, there is still Resolutions which is making its last time around as a show. This time of year is also a time to make the ever-popular wish list for jolly Saint Nick. The big question of the year seams to be "Where's our sport going in the future?" Oh and Happy Thanksgiving. For my household this year has both gone quickly and slowly. The quickly would have to be the shows that we planned to attend that crept up on us and we didn't have the money at the time to go to. The slow part would be watching my husband go through one surgery, rehab, pain, another surgery, and now more rehab. As you can guess our Nissan has been on back burner except the couple of shows we made it to, and the couple of things we managed to do to it this year. This is also the year our son started school (pre-k)... kids grow so fast. At least the world didn't stop like they had everyone scared into thinking would happen. The last Resolutions.....yeah that's right, if the rumors are true, there will be no more of this great show after 2001. I've never got to experience Reso yet but hope to make it to this one. This is a show that's going to be missed by a lot of people. I hope that either the promoters change their mind about ending this show, or someone buys the rights to it and keeps it going.

The wish list.... this is the time of year you can find your Husband/boyfriend making a list of things he needs, but mostly just things he wants. As the wife or girlfriend of a customizer, the list usually goes as such, toys for his truck, toys for me, tools, and lastly things he needs. What my husband doesn't realize is that things he gets for the truck are things I want on it anyway. Ladies, remember when it comes to the list, pick carefully as you should want to do well next show season too. The other thing is that the only difference between the kids and the adult males in our life is the price of the toys. Our future in this sport is up to us. We all can make a difference in whether it progresses or dies off. I feel like if we can come together to help the younger people in our sport stick around, help make the smaller shows bigger, attend the bigger shows that are still here, and make new shows we can always have weekends to get together and have friendly competition. My husband and I have a friend whose son, at age 9, wired up a box for a 10-switch setup. Kids like him are the ones that will hopefully pick up where we leave off. Attend your local shows even if they're small. If you don't, one day you may not have it to attend. Take the time to go to out of state shows that have been around for a while. Bigger attendance numbers will help the promoters with the growing cost of cleanup, prizes, etc. As for new shows, it only takes a few interested and dedicated people to get one together.
