This would be my first time heading down to KRZ’s river run and what a great time it was. Jason and myself would load up in the rental and take a detoured route to the show hitting up Reno for some gambling a day early. With our gambling bug out of our system, alcohol ran through our blood we would be sure to rest up before continuing the road to the river.
As we arrived into the show area and got hooked up with our hotel room we’d hook up with some of the ST members from Utah and Nevada for some good conversation and cold drinks. As more people arrived to the grounds things managed to get crazier. Good ol’ river runs, filled with tons of people, phat rides and lots of alcohol. We’d hang out till about 5am before deciding to hit the hotel to get some sleep so we could walk the show Saturday morning.
When we arrived to the show grounds the sun was already burning hot and it was actually pretty humid around the grounds. Camera in hand I’d begin my way around the show taking photos and talking to people. The show was a decent size and there were a lot of nice rides to look at. After the covering the show and doing a few features we’d head back to the hotel and get ready for the nightlife.
With our return into the grounds with a cooler full of beer we managed to be right in time for the cruise part of the show to be shut down due to a vehicle stalled in one of the narrow area’s of the cruise. We’d park the rental and head out on foot meeting up with new and old friends and have a good time. One camp had a hot tub hooked up at camp and filled with chicks and surrounded by drunk minitruckers. We’d continue drinking till about 5am once again before heading back to the hotel to get some sleep before heading back home.
All in all it was a great show even worth driving the 12 hours to get to. When you go to a show to hang out with the people there and see nice rides it makes it easy to enjoy. If you’ve never been to KRZ river run then I’d suggest at least giving it a shot one time.
