Although John Adkins main thought was not to build a world class-fighting machine he knew that he wanted Memphis to be remembered for something else, a world-class mini. So when John set out to build this world-class mini he knew that not anything would fit the bill. You see John is a fabricator at Silver Star Customs in Horn Lake, MS so he needed to make sure that not only did the truck he was going to build bring honor to his home city it also needed to bring honor to the shop and crew at SSC. With that in mind John purchased a 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer in the summer of 1998. When John arrived back at SSC with the Blazer everyone thought John was just going to drop it an inch or two and maybe throw a new set of wheels on it and call it a day. Boy was they ever wrong.

The first order of business was to take the Blazer completely apart, all the way down to the frame apart. John knew that to be competitive in the scene that his Blazer had to be built to a high standard. So with this in mind John decided to replaced the front springs with a new set of Red's Hydraulics 8" cylinders, replace the factory spindles with a set from Belltech and sent the entire front suspension off to the local chrome shop to ensure it not only worked good but looked good too.
