As I prepared my camera, Danny again began to clean his S10. We talked about the truck and I learned many things that I had never known before. As I snapped photos, Danny and Cindy (Danny's girlfriend) stood back watching and we exchanged normal conversation. Even though this wasn't the first time Danny had photos taken of his truck, you could tell he was just as proud as the first day he rolled it out. He pointed out little details to me and told me the history of the truck to date. I finished up the driver side ¾ photos and let Danny know he could turn it around for passenger side photos. While he was doing that, I went over and started talking to Cindy. I remember hearing a loud "pop" and turned around, to find Danny with the hood up. An airline had broken. We talked about it for a few minutes and decided that we would just meet up again when I came into town for NOPI and finish it there.Danny told me to call him when I got into town. I shook Danny's hand and told Cindy goodbye I still remember the last thing I said to Danny, "It was good to see you again. Have a safe trip home." It pleased me inside to know that my last conversation with Danny was meaningful and that he knew his friendship was appreciated. I left East Coast Nationals fully expecting to see my friend and fellow minitrucker again. Unfortunately, things didn't happen that way.

Danny's funeral was nothing less than amazing. The show of support for Cindy and Danny's family from his fellow scene supporters was outstanding. Members from every club imaginable were on hand to pay their respects. The procession line was lead by Danny's S10, driven by his nephew. Friends, family, fellow Acrophobia club members and countless other club members followed, showing support by driving their show vehicles. The site was enough to bring tears to everyone's eyes. At the graveside services, everyone stood around Danny's S10 and embraced each other in a show of support. You could of heard a pin drop, but you knew what was on everyone's mind. Even in the grief and sadness you had to know that Danny was looking down at his friends and loved ones, with that big smile that he always had, knowing everyone missed him. Goodbye Danny Rowe. We love you and miss you. Bobby Stewart***At the request of Cindy and Danny's friends, SSM will be reshooting Danny's S10 in it's entirety at Slamfest 2002 in Tampa, Florida in November. ***
