The Industry Player
First of all I would like to apologize for the lenghty delay of this issue. With our server issues last week and email problems this week, we've been pretty swamped. But never the less here we go with this months Import Street Source so enjoy!
For those of you that had the misfortune of not seeing the H2 that the crew at Ekstensive built really missed out on something beautiful. We are in a time where creativity is becoming rare for most unless you know what to look for and peep out the littlest things in a ride. Those that can appreciate a true custom more as they can see the innovation of suspension or the way a particular mod was laid out. Then we have Ekstensive Metal Works. Yes they bust out crazy shit. Yes they do the little things that most people would look right over. And yes they can bust out crazy shit that only they seem to do. Pictures do no justice for some of the rides they create. It is because of shops and innovative people like this that moves our sport forward. Yes about 98% of us in the scene can't afford to Body Drop an H2 on 24's let alone afford an H2 period, but the fact that they did it amazes me.
We are definitely into a period where innovation has to become more of our focus on customizing our rides. Shows should cater to more of the little things done versus the "what everyone has" modifications. The subtle changes are what we should appreciate. If you have to take 2 or 3 glances just to notice something, that shit right there is cool. Yes I love a body dropped ride, but everyone has them. Yes I love shaved doors, but everyone has them. I like the look of big rims and billet, but everyone has them. Get down and dirty and check out the little shit with the suspension set up. We can't blame the show people or those just there to look at nice rides. It is a failure of our own. People need to get back to reader boards. Point out the shit that most wouldn't see. Make shit interesting. I think the H2 is something that was needed to fuel the custom rage of our scene.
Till next month, Haters keep haten' and lovers keep humpin'
