What a goofy whack year this has been yet so far. Although this was my first month of leaving the state lines of Idaho, I think I've ran into everything these 4 weeks of June then the entire year last year. I've run into old friends and made new ones. I've got to see some boobies along with other things but I'll let the film tell that story. Hell even Jack got some play in a way every other guy wishes could happen to him! I've actually come across shows where I had a problem with photo shoots. The problem was to many quality rides to shoot and not enough light to shoot them in. I don't think I ran into that problem one time last year.At this point last year I would have guess that the quality of rides had been better then the year before. This year leads me to believe that not only are the quality of rides better then last year, but that quality has risen by at least 75%! Especially here in the Northwest and over in the Northeast has the quality jumped about 125% its plum crazy! This makes my job easier and harder at the same time. How you ask? Well it makes covering shows much more enjoyable and it drives me to talk to more people I had never had a chance to talk to. Also it gives me more opportunities to capture individual rides on camera instead of trying to scrounge for features. The hard part comes in form of father time. He just isn't around enough in the day during these shows. Hell looks like I'm going to have to start getting up earlier and getting morning features. Okay whom am I kidding; mini-truckers go to bed in the morning they don't wake up then. So I guess that just leaves me to be pickier with the features, which is good for you, the readers. So for all of you new bees out there getting it right the first time (and I've noticed a loooot of first timers showing up with some phat shit!) keep it up and help out the next new comer so the quality keeps getting better and better year in year out so the competitive nature in our blood drives us to build phatter and phatter shit! I know I'm pressing to come up with new shit so that I can have a chance to grab my own attention on the show scene, that doesn't mean you have to, but our sport/hobby/life needs it! Build it because YOU want it phat, don't build it cause you want other people to think its phat.Garrick ArendsEditorGarrick@StreetSource.com
