Summerslam Show
My first time to the extreme East coast regions would be in thanks to Jay from show n shine promotions to cover Summer Slam located in Winchester, VA. After flying into Baltimore, MD, I would meet up with a club called Nice Dreams, who would take me out and make sure that I entertained all.
After meeting up with Jenn and her husband, we ventured to Ruby Tuesday's to get some grub and meet up with some of their club members. While there I was sure to give every employee a hard time and ensure that everyone around us had perm-a-grin from each comment or request blurted out by myself. With dinner done and morning coming early to head to the show I was taken back to the hotel where I would find myself getting a good few hours' sleep.
With a ring of the phone I was up and ready to head to VA. As Jenn and her husband picked me up in their Blazer we headed out on a trip through the rain wondering if the weather would be okay on the show grounds. The closer we came the better the weather became. To much of my surprise, as we rolled onto the grounds there were tons of rides and quality ones at that. While everyone was waiting in line I proceeded to hunt down Jay so we could get a rental for me to get around in.
With rental keys in hand I headed to the hotel to drop off my things and it was back to the show to check things out and see what the weekend was going to have in store. With judging being drive threw, it gave me an opportunity to check out rides waiting in line and talk to a few people. I managed to encounter a few SSM regulars in line for the wash hose, and one would be Jason or as some of you know in SSM as JasonZ. As Jason was washing his ride I'd cover some of the show then we'd proceed to go grab some grub and get ready for the nights festivities.
After returning from the food run, it was time for the burn-out competition where I would watch John Beebe from Drop'em wear shoot shirts into the crowd. As much as I tried to get him to just tag someone in the head with a shirt, he declined my offer. But what some people will do for a shirt is ridiculous. After watching rubber fly and smoke billow from the rides, it was time to continue around the show for more pictures. Being all jacked up about the contest, people proceeded to take the burn-out contest to the streets where Jonny-Law would soon catch on to the game and start handing out tickets.
As the show slowed down, we found the show rides making there way to the camp grounds were girls were already getting naked and beeds were flying left and right. Having Jay tell me about the cooler full of beer they had didn't help me much either. So since Jason had already drug off his roll pan off his stepside, we proceeded to the camp in dragging fashion. Seeing all the fun around us we parked and began our walk only to run into another Jason on SSM (OIIVLife). As my beer ran out, this Jason made sure that a fresh one was in hand, thanks!
The darker it got outside, the more boobies where flying around. With one club carrying a Boob meter, the girls were measured to see if they were carrying some dubs or whether they had the 13x7 reverse wire wheels hangin. At one point a few girls even jumped up on the roof of a car in order to dance above the crowd. With as much fun as I was having watching these crazy East coasters, it was time to reside back to my room to get ready for Sunday's festivities.
With the morning arising early, breakfast was grubbed on and the rental was on its way back to the show. One thing I was starting to notice was all of the SSM stickers appearing on ride after ride. I had given Jason a stack of them to hand out and everyone seemed to be applied in proper fashion. As I proceed to the Hi-Low competition, I notice that many quality rides were in line, like Shane's Mitsu and David's Taco amongst others. After the Hi-Low was complete it was time for the always-famous bikini contest. A little different then some of the shows I've been to, this one were held with the Hawaiian tropic girls. After strutting their stuff, guys had an opportunity afterwards to have their picture taken with them as a group or individually. The CaliStyle guy's win my approval for creative posses with the girls.
With the show coming to a close and trophies being awarded, I reflect back to the over all show and have to say that for my first time being there I was impressed with the quality and number of rides in attendance. I'm looking forward to making my way there next year and hope to see all of you there as well. I'd like to thank Jay for having faith in my ability to cover the show I had a killer time!
