July is usually the month that I plug my very favorite show, Texas Heat Wave. Since I don't intend to break the cycle, let me tell you some of my favorite parts of the best show of the season. It's the biggest party that I have ever been too, has the sweetest rides that I've ever seen, and, without a doubt, the hottest bodies mentionable.
THE PARTY: Imagine tons and tons of customizers converging in one town in the heart of Texas with tons and tons of beer, and tons of loose morals, and tons of tight clothes. The options are endless. People that live at home with their parents and people that don't but still need a vacation from reality can create one hell of a scene. I've never seen so
many grown people hanging out, getting wasted, and getting to know each other. I do have to say, though, that I'm taking my mother this year. I've
already warned her to stay in her room after 10 or so. The only reason that I'm taking her is because she's ending a 30-year marriage and she could really use a break. Plus, I don't like to leave my son for very long and she has agreed to keep him if we decide to venture away by ourselves. Oh, and I love her. I know that doesn't sound like a party, but I think my mom can hang. After all, she's related to me.
THE HOOKED UP RIDES: There are so many quality rides because people from all corners of the United States gather at this show to strut their
stuff. You are liable to see all of the last year's cover trucks and lots of the last year's under construction trucks. You also might see all of next year's cover trucks. Even if you are not behind the times on modifications, you'll still probably see something new. I saw one of the phattest Hondas there in 95, and that was before the import craze busted out.
THE HOT BODIES: I have never seen so many beautiful women and so many guys with six-pack stomachs. I don't mean the kind where they drank too many six-packs either. I, personally, think that if you have a great body and don't mind showing it, then have at it. I guess the heat tends to make people take their clothes off. With the show being at Dell Diamond this year, I'm curious to see how people will get around not having a Paradise Alley. I guess the parties at the hotels and the parties on 6th street will just get bigger. Either way, I'm sure there will be lots of testosterone and estrogen pummeling the pavement. There's nothing like pimpin' your ride.....
I would like for everyone to take a moment and think about how much work and effort goes into planning a huge show like this. Let's remember that nothing goes as planned and stuff always has to be sorted out when a venue. Let's all make the trek to Round Rock safely and party like hell when we get there. This is absolutely a 'do not miss' show. See ya there.....
