Midwest Car and Truck Nat's
This is the first time I've been to this show since it moved from it's old location to the new site. I always heard it was a good show and everything I've ever heard was correct. The only thing holding this show back was the rain... and lots of it.
As I rolled into Lexington, KY Saturday morning things looks pretty dim. Cloudy skies and the occasional rain shower seemed to be prevailing over most of the southeast. After arriving at Masterson Station Park, things started looking better. Tons of trucks and cars from all over had arrived and were already getting setup for the weekend's event. The sun even decided to rear its head as the day went on. This show has it all from lowriders to minitrucks to compact cars. Heck, even some phat 4x4's were on hand to give the spectators something to look at. As roll in was complete and everyone was pretty much finished getting their rides cleaned up for the judges, I started walking around and snapping photos.
The main thing i noticed about this show is the size of the grounds it's held on. There is tons of room to park the show vehicles and a lot of nice lanes to cruise in, if that is your thing. Need a place to wash your ride before judging? They even had that. Everything seemed to flow pretty smooth throughout the day.
There were several contests throughout the course of the event. Rain, unfortunately, cut the show off early on Saturday and most events were held the following day, including the hydraulics competition and bikini contest.
If you get a chance to come out for this show next year, by all means do. You won't be disappointed.
