Made to drag
What's up everyone? Well as I cruise in to June, I'm looking back on May with a lot of rejoice. I got to go to two shows, hang with friends, and we finally have more than one vehicle in my household. Drop your ride, and hold on as I recap some good times from the past month for you.
To start off on May the 5th Brandi and I went to the Godfather's Customs "Spring Jam" as our first show of the year. We didn't show the Nissan, as it isn't going to show anymore until it's done. We did however get to hang with some members from our club, meet some cool people, and see some new trends. Some of our TX chapter made the 16-hour trip to hang for the day, and as usual were a blast to be around. I also got to meet the two Steve's from Alter Images, Ron Scranton, and Rafel Reveles who all flew in from Cali. All these guys were def. cool to be around, and were willing to answer any tech questions they could. One last thing to know about the Godfather's shows, DO NOT GET ON THE GOLF CART OF DEATH. This would be the stretched golf cart driven by Daniel who claimed "We've only flipped this thing once." I would beg to differ though, and thankfully not by experience.
Our second show of May was the Garden State Nationals that took place on May the 12th and 13th. Brandi got on a plane for the first time with me to fly into Baltimore where our buddy James Shortway (Pancake), and Mark Kottwitz (Tandem Maddness) were waiting with smiles to pick us up. As we got into Pancake's Peon we decided to get some food before the 3 hour ride to New Jersey where the show was. After dinner we went north with Pancake in the Peon, and Tandem went home south an hour and a half away. Yep that's right he drove an hour and a half to meet Brandi and I at the airport, friends are great. We managed to talk him into sticking around for dinner before he drove an hour south to go home. Tandem then turned around and drove 4 hours north to come hang out at Garden State Nats with us. After spending the day at the show we went back to Pancake's shore house for a cookout, and then to cruise in Seaside. As we got up Sunday morning we got ready to go back to Baltimore for the flight home to Georgia. Before leaving the shore house though we got to see one last display of scrapage. One of our new friends Magoo, as he was leaving the shore house was requested to "Drag that shit!" So being a MiniTrucker he did as requested and drug for at least a block before raising his truck back up off the pavement. He also managed to get two traffic violations that weekend. The weekend overall was very cool as we got to hang with old friends such as Pancake, Tandem, Phil Fowler, and Butchy Siebert. We also met some cool new friends that we're looking forward to seeing again.
For more excitement in May, Brandi finally got her a vehicle after a year and a half. We finally got the chance to go get her a 2001 Tahoe like she's been wanting for a while. At the moment of me writing this she's had it almost a week, and she's still trying to figure out what all the buttons do. As for me, I got a 2001 GMC crew cab dually that will be used to pull the Nissan to shows, run errands in, and of course it'll get the basics like adjustable suspension. It can't be help, and you know this.
June 2nd. Yep my article was late for this issue. I'm stoked though. We just got back from a trip to TX where we attempted to get a house so we could move out there. The deal on the house fell through, but we still dropped both the Nissan, and the dually off to get some additions made to them. The Nissan is at this moment in Tomball TX at Phat Rides, and my 9 day old dually is in Houston TX at Ekstensive Metal Works. If all goes well the Nissan should be primed for Heat Wave, and the dually should be bagged and draggin.
Well I guess that about wraps things up for this month. Next month I give you all the details on the adventurous trip we had to TX, and back. Until then cruise it low, and fornicate with protection.
Later
