Since I'm one of the group of people that started this show, it has always been a sort of homecoming for me. Living in Nashville and only being 30 minutes from Lebanon makes this a show weekend that is pretty easy to manage - no driving all night to make it there, no finding hotels for the weekend, no looking for show sites and getting lost. Every year I attend this event, there always seems to be more and more people and more and more nice rides. This year was no exception. The day started off pretty bad. Thunderstorms plagued the area the night before and well into the early hours of the morning. When I woke up to see the clouds looking as if they were going to break, I thought maybe this might be a good weekend afterall. Well, saturday at least. As it turned out, the showers held off and the sun peaked through just in time for roll in early in the morning. Hell, the sun shined so well, I even managed to get a pretty intense sunburn! As I strolled around the show area and watched everyone unload and get setup for the weekend, I could tell there were going to be some nice rides this year.. Slammin' N' Jammin has always attracted people from every aspect of the sport - minis, full sizes, compact cars, lowriders, classics. Again, this year was no exception. There were fine minis, nice compact cars and full-sizes and I even managed to find a few of the lowriders pretty darn nice. Finding quality rides at Slammin' N' Jammin' was in fact, a breeze. The event held all the normal contests - hydraulics, neon, bikini, burnout, highest vehicle, lowest vehicle and sound and SPL contests. Some of the major players in sponsoring and participating in these events were BF Goodrich, Red's Hydraulics, Low Glow Neon, Audiobahn and Hot Rod Engineering. Vendor's alley was packed with everything you could possibly want: wheels, neon, vinyl graphics, it was all there.

Late saturday evening brought more storms and even a tornado rolling through in the distance. Needless to say, judging and events were over for the day. Sunday morning rolled around and the sun was bright again, judging continued. The bikini contest that was scheduled for saturday was held on sunday and brought out several lovely ladies. Even a hottie in the crowd managed to stop the show by giving everyone a show of her own goods. Gotta love that. Slammin' N' Jammin' gets better every year so you should plan on checking it out next year if you haven't already. Street Source Magazine will. By Bobby StewartCoverage continued next page >>
