The simple fact of the matter is that everyone has their time to pass. Every one of us will eventually die, leaving behind us mourning relatives, friends and acquaintances who will all struggle with the harsh reality that their friend is gone. Its really hard for me to comprehend as well. Mark was the only person who ever died who I was close to. As I look back on everything it comes to me that we should honor the dead for who they were and the good times we had together. With that I’m going to recall the last time I spent with Mark. Garrick, “Farmer”, Mark and myself went to California to spend the weekend at the Spring Truck Jamboree. We all had a great time and I very specifically remember the last time that I saw him. I was there in the back lot of the showgrounds on this odd piece of concrete in the middle of nowhere with bleachers placed behind it. Mark and Farmer had to get back home so they could go to work and school the next day. It was late, around 5 o’clock, and they had a long drive ahead of them. As I looked up to say goodbye to Mark, I remember him standing there with his usual look. He had his goofy smile on his face, his hat on with his hair still falling on his face, and his Relaxed tshirt on. He looked at me, held out his hand, and said, “Goodbye, Kevin. See you later.” Goodbye Mark. You will be missed…..
