Xtreme Bash
Xtreme Bash
On April 21st, 2002, the Georgia chapter of Xtreme Lowz hosted their first show called Xtreme Bash at Tara Stadium in Jonesboro, Georgia. Rides from all over including Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee were on hand to display their best for this first year show.
With the show being on sunday, I decided to meet up with my friends from Xtreme Lowz Georgia and Florida on saturday. Howard and his Xtreme Lowz/Georgia crew showed us a good time. After hanging out, celebrating April 20th and grabbing a bite to eat, Howard and his crew took us to a club called Mama's, which surprised us at first because they were playing country music when we first arrived. Shortly after, the dance music started and everyone got their groove on.
After the club, everyone went back to Howard's house, drank some more and crashed. Bright and early the next morning, we were up and ready for the Xtreme Bash. I pulled out the camera and walked around the grounds checkings out all of the nice rides that were in attendance.
Right away I noticed the amount of nice rides and well known clubs that were in attendance. Clubs like Negative Camber and Severed Ties had members in attendance, as well as other like Hal from Godfather's and his fullsize Chevy on 24's. Everything from body dropped trucks to raced out Hondas were showing what they had, much to the delight of the spectators. Howard and his crew offered several other events to keep spectators and participants busy all day, including a car bash and club tug-o-war contest.
By late sunday afternoon, the judging process was over in both car show and stereo contest and the Xtreme Lowz crew was ready to hand out awards. Howard and Xtreme Lowz not only gave away the usual trophy, but Best Of Show car and truck winners received money, as well as Club Participation. Everyone seemed to go home with a while on their face after awards were over and everything was said and done.
The response from this show was so good this year that Xtreme Lowz has already made plans to make their show a two-day event for 2003. If you're looking for a good time and a good event, plan to attend next year. Street Source Magazine will.
