To complete the new front-end, Trenz billet inserts were placed into the grille shell and PIAA lights where installed behind the billet to light up the night. In compiling a show vehicle, or in Craig’s case “just another vehicle," you need to finish smoothing out the body. The crew from Crazy Customs went back to work and shaved the door handles. Access to the vehicle without having to go through a window was provided by Auto Loc utilizing actuators to pop the doors. Moving to the rear, you notice that the rear bumper was thrown aside and in its place a rollpan with a license plate box, which has been molded to the body, and yes, sits laying flat on the ground. Also in the rear, the stock license plate box and handle has been replaced by sheet metal to round out the body. The van has a “big ass” roof, so something had to be done. It was something that couldn’t be left alone. A sliding rag was installed to let the sunshine in. To finish things off, a set of Muth signal mirrors were installed. To say the crew at Crazy Customs where about done with Craig's van would be a big understatement. Completely shaved, smoothed, molded and cut, the only thing left on the exterior was to grab everyone’s attention. This is when Craig contacted Jerry Kranzler from Jerk Designs in Simi Valley California. Jerry put down a several coats of PPG Tangelo Pearl Orange that would be the backdrop for the assorted PPG graphics that highlight Craig's Astro. Now let's take a look back.Waaaaaay back! After seeing Craig’s van off and on for the past few years, the one thing that was always missing was interior. So in order to complete this “much praised” van, Craig turned to Mike Cox from Professional Auto Sound & Security in West Lake California for help. Let’s just say that things would never be the same. After custom designing a new dashboard and center console, it was time to look into some different seats. The seats of choice were pretty much a mutt, but needless to say a proper choice indeed. What Craig ended up with was Ford Thunderbird front electric buckets in the front and a Chevy xcab bench in the rear. The upholstery was all laid out in tan leather and some pimp-ass leopard material that also covers the headliner, along with a binded carpet kit.

To finish off the interior, an APC steering wheel was added along with a custom built roll cage fabricated by Bo Harris Fabrication along and air brushed skulls by Jimmy Ankrum of J&S customs. The entire Van was wired by Painless Wiring. Craig would like to thank Michael Cox, Brian Rush, Fernando Aguilar, Dino Massina, and all his sponsors which include; Crazy Customs, Jerk Designs, Arelli, Mikes Tint Shop, APC, Pirelli, PPG, Borla, Sway Away, Air Ride Technoligy’s, Street Glow, Painless Wiring, Madico, PIAA, Taylor, Techflex, Powermaster, Dynamat, CGS, Sir Michael’s, Auburn Gear, Auto Lock, Optima, Steve Van Demon, Meguiars, Jet Performance. Craig would also like everyone to know that his Chevy Astro is currently for sale and if anyone is interested they can contact Crazy Customs. And make sure you look for Craig's next project. He says he's building something "BIG" that is sure to turn more heads than anything he has built to date.
