How far out should you advertise your show? The answer: “As far out as possible!” With that in mind, the promoters of Slamily Reunion began advertising over a year in advance to make the show one of the best around. Presented by Auto Accessories Unlimited and hosted by California Customs, Slamily Reunion took over Columbus Acres Park in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. The weather Saturday morning wasn’t the greatest by any means. In fine Arkansas tradition, we were treated to unusual seasonal weather that included highs in the 90s and rain to make it good and sticky. That, however, didn’t seem to stop any of the 362 rides and over 3500 spectators who made the trip out from flowing into the show grounds all day long. The idea of the show was to come out, relax, and have that family reunion feel and that is exactly what they pulled off. People drove in from as far away as 800 miles and flew in from all over the country. Over and over all weekend, you could hear people running into each other and catching up. The atmosphere was amazing. On Sunday afternoon, Robbie handed out the awards for a large amount of classes. Best- of and Specialty awards were done up by a variety of vendors and were amazing. Although many were sad to leave the event, the guys at Slamily Reunion were already announcing next year’s dates, July 31st though August 1st , giving everyone plenty of time to mark their calendars and make reservations.Special thanks go out to all the vendors including KEG Media, Advanced Auto Parts, Wheel Works, Smith Automotive Group, Slam Specialties, Silver Star Customs, Keef's Rod & Custom, Precision Graphix, AVS, EDB Wheels, Sin Customs, Come Get Ya Some, R&R Street Rods, Wilson Auto Body, Guilty by Design, Easy Scrape, Waylayed Air Suspensions & Kutting Edge Hot Rod InteriorsText & Photos by Richard Bruner
