The Georgia World CongressCenter was the setting for the 32ND Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Word of Wheels Autorama. One of the exhibition halls was the location for a traditional indoor car show. As soon as you walked in the first thing you see is the totally custom Hot Wheels Deora II. Walking around the show floor I noticed a few of GA’s finest trucks and cars from the import and minitruckin’ scenes were on display along side the classic and muscle cars. Chip Foose’s newest creation, the Hemisfear, was on display for all to look at but not to get anywhere close enough to touch because of the huge display area for the car. Most of the major cars are set up on display stands with lights and mirrors to highlight the modifications and the detail level of the top, interior, and bottom of these show cars. A group of pinstripers were doing their thing on pieces of painted sheet metal that were going to be auctioned off for charity. Motorcycles were on display for the bikers in the group.
A good amount of bikes showed up considering a big bike show was also going on that weekend. Around the outside of the show floor vendor display booths were set up for you to spend your time and money at if you got bored with the car show. To keep the young ones interested Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer were there. Tow-Mater from the movie ‘Cars’ was there for anybody to take a picture with if you wanted to wait in line for it. It was hard not to yell “Drag that shit’ when walking by. A great indoor car show that had plenty of cars to look at and but a bigger turn out of truck and cars would have made it a lot better. Check out the website, Autorama.com or WorldofWheels.com, for info on the shows and the schedule.
