New York International Bike Show
New York International Bike Show
The New York International Bike Show had a pretty fair turnout this year. Although comparably smaller in size it still managed to exceed my expectations for a in door show. On display this year were bikes from Yamaha, Harley Davidson, Kawasaki, Buell, Ducati, and a few others. The goal was to get the riders familiar with their new lineup of bikes that would be coming out in the New Year. The stands consisted of anything from cruisers, to crotch rockets, and even quads and dirt bikes. The Make-A-Wish foundation was raffling off a bike to raise money and from the looks of it seemed to be raising a lot of money throughout the weekend.
Also showing their support for the bike scene where some custom bike shops, painters, and bike clubs. The Kings Riders, Ruff Ryder’s, Jersey Riders, and Hells Angels were some of the clubs that turned out for the event. At the King Riders booth they had on display some bikes with pretty crazy murals on them. Some custom bike builders like Indian Larry’s (RIP) Gasoline Alleys NYC Choppers, Tribal Iron Custom Choppers, Xtreme Cycles, Cycle Delics, and many others where on hand to show off some of the cleanest custom bikes on the east coast.
Because it started snowing around 11am we had to leave the show early so I missed the Dirt bikes driving in the circle of death (2 bikes drive around inside a round cage) but there is more than just bike displays for spectators to look at. There is a huge section set up for retail where you can buy helmets, gear, tanks, rollers, complete bikes, or schedule your next paint job.
