Although the engine wasn’t planned to be the strong point of the build up, it was ensured to receive some good attention. For starters the 2.3L would receive a set of billet underdrive pulleys while the valve cover would be painted silver to match the car. 4-2-1 chrome aftermarket headers would then be installed along with a Turbo muffler to help bring out some noise while an AEM true cold air intake painted silver would be installed to suck in the air.

  Derrick would like to thank Mark Turner for giving him a good start on the build-up. Although he changed or modified a lot of what Mark had previously did, his original mods gave Derrick ideas for new mods on the car, as well as mods for his upcoming project -- a 2001 Super Crew bagged on 23s. Derrick would also like to thank his parents for being understanding and giving him rides and letting him borrow their vehicles when the Accord was in the shop or being ripped apart in the driveway. All the guys in Shattered Images who are like brothers, Chris Wofford for an excellent paint job, and all the people that he has met at shows who gave him kind comments about how they liked the car. And lastly, all the haters that told him he was dumb for selling his truck to get a Honda.
