The way I see it...
How ya'll is? I can't believe this lousy March weather...16 in the morning when you wake up and 75 by the end of the week, only in Texas!
Another entry into the "Daddy Files..." little Savannah has discovered her hands and that they fit in her mouth! Along with this, she had to get her shots, hard to say who cried more, her or me... And last but definitely not least, she is discovering new facial
expressions with alarming rapidity. This week she learned "pouty face" and that includes the quivering lower lip..too cute!!
Now on to my monthly ramblings about all things minitruckin' and some that aren't! Recently, a person on one of my minitruckers e-mail groups had a personal crisis, bad enough that he was going to try to take his own life. He was wise enough to tell everyone on the list and this brought out the best in some people that you would never know had it in them!
Not only were several people willing to talk to him, most of them went the extra mile. I am glad to report that he is doing much better now, this is according to him and several of his friends that are near him and on our list too. I am not mentioning any names, but
folks from the list know who it is.
The reason I brought this up is to ask a question. Why does it take a tragedy to bring people together? Now admittedly, the outcome of this scenario could have been quite different than it had, but folks were willing to let a basically complete stranger pour out
his problems on them and help him figure out a way to deal with it. This isn't the first time that our community has come together like this, remember September 11? I know for a fact that there were fellow minitruckers digging at the WTC and several were called back to active status in the military.
Can anyne tell me why we spend so much time dividing ourselves? Whether it be by the club we are or aren't in, the brand of vehicle we drive, whether it's bagged or juiced....the list goes on and on. Why can't all stand up together as a family and let our voice be heard...that we're not all bad apples that burn up and down your street with the beats flexin at 2am. Most of us are hard-working, mostly law-abiding (how legal can you be in a custom vehicle anyways??) citizens that pay our taxes and instead doing drugs we get our high every time metal contacts pavement.
This is something that really gets stuck in my craw when I think about it. I've said it before and many will say it again, some of us need to grow up before you ruin it for everyone.
On a sidenote, the young man with the Fast nad the Furious S10 near me, was finally busted being an idiot and the local police now know for sure that my truck is not his truck (and not only because it is sitting behind the house waiting to be raised back up so I can
get rid of it...or at least get rid of the vibrations).
Well, get your hoses out and start cleaning them rides, show season is ALMOST HERE!!
Until next month, keep your wheels spinnin' and the beavers grinnin'!
