This scene isn’t always about who has the best ride, or the most money, or even the most sponsors. The memories that we take away from each show, whether in victory or defeat, are the friendships that are made. Stories aren’t recalled about how many cans of cleaner were used on the windows, but instead about who was there with you to endure the long haul. Face it, none of us would stick to this if we all went at it alone. Someone has to keep us awake the days before a show and someone has to keep us moving forward whenever taking “best of” seems impossible. For many of us the only thing that most people will ever know is what our ride says in our place.

However, there are the rare few that bring more than metal and paint to this scene and make a change in our lives that we often take for granted. I am referring to that one person that stays with you after the show is over because your ride suddenly blew a bag, or that one person that buys your way just so you can have a good weekend. On that note, I would like to introduce those of you who don’t know Joe Garcia of Severed Ties and for those of you who do, well then let this be a reminder to the kind of person that has brought us all closer together.
