When Peter Schipani of Greenville, South Carolina realized the lack of places to get custom parts for his own car and his friends' rides back in 1996, he knew he had to do something. That's exactly what he did, opened one of the first real "import" and aftermarket parts stores on the east coast. He named this store Mean Street Motorsports, Inc.

Even though the store started out small, it didn't take it long to grow. Soon word of mouth and repeat customers made the store what it is today. This Greenville store wound up becoming one of the southeast's top shops to get custom parts and to even have them installed. People were coming as far as two states away just to be able to see the parts they wanted and even be able to have them on their rides before they left the store.
