Did someone say party? Yeah that's right. It's February the month where I throw myself a party to celebrate the increase in age, weight, and the loss of hair, brain cells and eyesight. Twenty-nine isn't that old really. Okay so what I've been married for almost a century, have been out of school more than a century, and never get carded. There is a place for us short, oldER, bald, fat, eyeglass wearing, MINItruckers, and if you find it, PLEASE let me know. One sign that will let you know you've been around awhile is when you start getting Social Security statements in the mail. These tell you how much you've earned in your life, and how much SS benefits you'll be entitled to when it's time to retire. These you should try to avoid, it'll only to depress you. Or it does me anyway. Show season is coming fast! Are you ready? I'm not. In true MiniTruckin' fashion, I've been more concerned about dragging in my dually then working on my Nissan, so it looks like "ITFELL", my 95 Nissan, will be either sidelined or in under construction again. Under construction is, as I've found, a much harder class than people would think. It's simple really. What trucks usually have the phattest mods at a show? Yeah, that's right, the primered ride that the guy next to you wasn't afraid to hack on. They're never "Finished", ever. Anyone that says that is just at a point in the build up where they're comfortable with it. Just two days ago I got some secret photos of a RECENT featured ride that is back under the sawzall blade. So to everyone in under construction, I give praise, and those that are "Finished", I'll get new pics the next time around. Wow, "Hoobastank" rocks. Yeah, that's right, there's a band called "Hoobastank" and the whole CD is killer. Okay, so to elaborate a little. I live in Rome, GA, and in my little town I've found that my best source of music reviews come from my good friend Catfish. Catfish is the owner of EZ's Hydraulics in Kingston Ga. In the past, he has given me very good information on bands that he feels are worth leaving in the CD player for more than one or two songs. With the price of CD's it's a plus if the whole thing is good. With that in mind, I've decided from time to time I'll bring you some of his musical selections, and let you decide for yourself if he's on the money. For this edition two selections he recommends are "Hoobastank", which can be checked out at www.hoobastank.com, and "Pressure 45." I bought both CD's and was impressed. That's it, that's all you get this month. Go work on something, drag something, and definitely fornicate with protection. Until next month keep it low, and keep it positive.Russell GulowSubCulture
