For some people, building a show-winning ride takes numerous attempts. Sometimes it means taking that vehicle apart time and time again in an attempt to make it stop a crowd dead in their tracks and make there jaws drop. But that isn't the case with Gary Ryan's '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Spyder. You see, the Eclipse was originally Gary's daily driver, which is how most custom rides start off but this is where the similarities stop. One day Gary approached his wife with the idea of selling the plain stock car and buying something a little more practical to drive every day to work. What better place to advertise the car than at a local import show in Gary's hometown of Miami, Florida. Taking the advice of the shows promoter, Gary entered the car into the show hoping to bring more attention to its "For Sale" sign. Well he didn't sell the Eclipse but he did bring home a first place trophy and that set the ball in motion.
