Under the hood of Sam's Caprice, several upgrades were made for show as well as for go. The stock LT-1 V8 engine received a host of "aftermarket" upgrades. First, the Mass Air Flow sensor was relocated. Next, a chrome "sewer pipe" intake with a chrome S&B filter was installed to not only look good for the judges, but help get the air in the engine more efficiently. For more show points, chrome mini filters were installed in the air pumps and valve cover.

The plenum was polished, as well as the alternator and dryer bottle. Polished Corvette fuel rail covers were installed for a more "showy" look and the throttle linkage cover from a Camaro, for the same reason. Krome Klamps polished stainless steel radiator hose wraps with chrome end covers keep the hoses up to par with the judges. Keeping the engine cool, electric fans as well as a Hypertech 160 degree thermostat was installed. An Opti Spark distributor, in conjunction with Taylor 8MM wires, give Sam's Caprice a little more power.

Helping Sam's Caprice breathing better, a stainless steel Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system was installed next. The system uses 2 ΒΌ" exhaust tube and the exhaust dumps out of the mufflers at the rear axle under Sam's Caprice.

Sam's Caprice, affectionally named "impaSSta," has seen it's share of high speed chases. Not only has Sam had his car up to speeds of 155 MPH (SHHH! Don't tell Johnny Law!) but this Caprice used to be a Highway Patrol Cruiser. (ie the spotlight)

Sam would like to send his love to crew nationwide. Special thanks go to his wife, Ashley, for excersizing plenty of restraint, even when Sam was in the driveway working on his car.
