Well, It's December and what a year it has been. Between all the shows, all the hours traveling, the laughs, the time spent with friends, and basically goofing, off I can honestly say that this year has been the best so far. Of course, it could always be topped next year.......maybe. Let's start with the shows. For Brandi and I, we do good to hit 5 or 6 big shows a year. This year we hit 10. Remember we live in GA. Final count looks a little something like this. Three shows in GA, 2 shows in TX, 1 show in VA, 1 show in Mississippi, 1 show in LA, 1 show in NC, and 1 in TN. Only one of these shows we flew too. The rest became road trips that each have their own set of memories that make them unforgettable. While we may not make it back to a few of them, we do look forward to getting to all the others and maybe some more next year. Here's some things that I've learned this year in no certain order. Although the interior in my dually is comfortable, as is the interior in Brandi's Tahoe, you can only sleep in so many positions before your body kinks up and says GET ME OUT OF THIS VEHICLE!!!! Not all rest areas are equal and not all rest areas make you feel safe enough to rest. Fast food is not fast food the hundredth time you try to eat it. It's just better than the rest area vending machine. Women do NOT find "Here's a Mountain Dew bottle for that." funny. It pays to stop. After a day and a half in a crew cab truck with 4 people that have run out of jokes, road games, and any hope of fresh CD's, the more expensive room that you didn't plan on that does not look ANYTHING like the picture on the Internet of the hotel's site is still a God send. Dinner plans the first night of a weekend show end up becoming what's open now that it's 11p.m. and we spent 3 hours trying to each be flexible because we were to tired to argue. Although they tell you it's safe, the brown water in Mississippi will still make you feel dirty. Austin, TX is easy to get around in, until you're with an advertising guy from MT taking directions from Canadians that have never even seen TX. It is the funniest 3 HOURS you'll spend in a car though. Another thing about TX is that the Canadians in question were very easily talked into getting their first tattoos which also turned out to be a funny 2 hours.

Of deciding what they were getting, that is. In Norht Carolina, "That's your milk" refers to a vehicle that makes yours look like the stock ride on the block. There are other variations, but that's the one I'll mention. One my 7 year old likes is, "Hey shorty, let me holla at ya." He tried this at one Hooters we ate at and he ended up getting his picture taken with Perky (our waitress). Hooters is also one of those places that if the girls look good, the food isn't good. If the food is good, the girls don't look that good. You make your own opinion though. A six year old's first time as the driver of the golf cart will make you nervous. Walking around a certain speedway in the Southeast 3 times trying to cover the show sucks for your feet. Thanks to South Honda for saving our feet that weekend. A free umbrella when it's raining at a show is way cool. Backing the family Tahoe into an unattended drug dealer's car at the hotel the morning of the show SUCKS. Seventeen thousand mile tires will look worn with 27,000 miles on them. Of course, I could go on for a while on this but that's just some of the highlights. I'm sure just about all of you can relate to some of the things I've mentioned though. With the dreaded traveling out of the way, we got down to what the shows are all about. We spent the weekends with our friends new, and old, trying to have a good time. With each show came new stories that got mixed with the old stories that people never seem to live down. Some stories, of course, are harder to believe than others unless you were there. Some stories even reach legendary status and will probably never die. Anyway we laughed and we had fun and for certain people we'll have a "You remember last year?" Since it's December, our traveling is over for the year, but we're already planning for the next road trip. Next season looks to be even better with Brandi and I having a mini to show again. Yeah that's right! The Nissan should be ready for next season and I can't wait. Don't get me wrong I was happy showing my dually this year, but it's not a mini. For those I had the privilege to meet this year; it was cool, and for those I haven't yet met; I look forward to it.Later all,Russell SC/AL
