I have concluded that being drop dead tired at a car show is an absolute requirement. Even at a show where we had every intention to not stay up all night and not walk around the show with that icky zombie feeling. But between Kevin rolling in from work at 4 a.m. and the little one up every hour through the night we fell just a little short of being…well… rested. Nevertheless we were ready to take on one of the most advertised shows I think I have ever seen on television and make our way for a short drive to Thackerville, Oklahoma.Winstar Casinos hosted their Reel Hot Rod Car and Customs Show July 9-11th. Kicking off the weekend they gave away loaded goody bags to their first 300 entrants including admission to the CASH kick off party with free food and beverages for everyone in addition to live entertainment. Winstar Casinos held the show right at their front door for all the 750 vehicle entrants. What more could you ask than for slick rides, free liquor, and lots of gambling?Text by Christina McCanliesPhotos by Kevin McCanlies
