Lowdown Showdown
Lowdown Showdown
This years Lowdown Showdown was a bit different then those in the past. With moving the show to Tulsa, show goers would find themselves wondering the show whether it was indoors or out doors, which was a nice change when needing to get out of the heat. After arriving Friday night I’d head over to the show area with Jimmy and help give my opinions on how to line up rides indoors and help clean up the area’s a little bit. With many beers downed we’d all head to the hotel for some sleep and prepare for Saturdays festivities.
As Saturday arrived I’d be picked up and taken to the show to start my coverage. To my surprise there was a good number of vehicles in side and out along with a lot of spectators enjoying what we work so hard to build. I’d spend a few hours before noon getting as much coverage outside as possible then as the sun hit straight up I’d continue on inside to get the rest of my coverage. There where plenty of rides to look at such as a bad ass body dropped and shaved out Chevy full-size. A pink body dropped frontier and lifted Burban both from Pleasures. Relaxed had a good number of complete badass rides in attendance as well as Severed.
After my coverage was complete I’d manage to meet up with new friends and old, drink down a few beers along with helping others make fun of some odd individuals. As the day moved on the bikini contest would take place where we’d encourage the girls to all go topless with the winner having the bigger of the boobs of course. There wouldn’t be much going on after the contest as the heat of the day was wearing on everyone so sitting around and finishing up the beers in the cooler seemed to be the most popular event.
This years LDSD was a good event with as many drastic changes that took place. Its rumored that next year could be the best ever as a 10 year anniversary so be sure to keep an eye on what Lower Level plans on bringing to 2005.
