How ya'll doin? Can you say GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE???!!!! Thanksgiving, a.k.a. Turkey Day, is almost upon us again and I am sure everyone knows what that means... friends, family and expanding waist lines, but what the hell, it's the HOLIDAYS!I'm going to go off on a different kind of rant, a bit more old mannish if you will. Whatever happened to service? I mean real service. I'm going to use a personal anecdote on this.Recently, after tiring of poor customer service and even poorer reception from my wireless phones with, ummm, we'll call them Crapular wireless, the wife and I decided to change providers (by the way, we got a helluva deal on our new service). When we went to Crapular's store to discontinue our service, we were not greeted and, after getting it pre-approved to not pay a cancellation fee, they tried to charge it anyways. Then after waiting over an hour for the one member of management to call and tell the rep we were dealing with to waive the fee's, we still hadn't heard from them, so a another rep said to just do it and suffer the repercussions later.This brings me to my next point. I remember a time, maybe I'm just old or it was growing up in the country, when companies actually TRIED to make things right with their customers in order to keep their business.
