When I first heard of the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I knew I had to add it to my list of shows I would attend this year. If you live anywhere in the southeast corner of the US, you've heard of or maybe even been to Myrtle Beach. It is one of the biggest beach areas in the east. What better place to hold a car show than in a town where there is an unlimited amount of things to do. There's everything from cruising on the main strip to eating at restaurants named "DICKS" where the servers are rude as hell and you can be the same to them. And you leave with a condom shaped paper hat on your head with some kind of put down wrote on it. You can even go to a small amusement park right on the beach. We left on our journey to the show on Friday morning. The weather was perfect the whole trip. Once at the beach, I went to the show field, which was a perfect, flat section of the Colonial Mall parking lot. As I walked up to the registration tent to sign in, the sky turned black and opened up like a fire hose. It is the hardest I've ever seen it rain! By the time I was finished registering, the rain had stopped and the sun was back out. You gotta love beach weather! That was the only time the weather was bad all weekend. By Saturday morning the show site was already packed with venders and custom rides. Drive through judging went quick and smoothly thanks to the Show and Shine crew. Once the show ended for the day, everyone went out to take in as much of the town as they could. Sunday morning we returned to the show to an already packed parking lot. Once the final results were tallied, the trophies were handed out to all the lucky winners. It was a fun and very organized show. You can be sure I'll be there next year. Look for this show the same weekend next year as well as all the other shows hosted by Show and Shine Promotions all over the east coast. For more info on their shows go to www.Show-N-Shine.com and check out their schedule for next year. I have included some information from Jay, the show promoter, about who took home the trophies at this show. States represented at this show: VA, WVA, MD, PA, GA, NC, SC, and TN. There were 100 classes in 3 different divisions: Street, Show and Pro. Each division had 10 specialty awards: Paint, Interior, Engine and was separated by cars and trucks. There were also awards for the Top 25 Daily Drivers.
