This would be my first time to Severed Ties Octoberfest, and it left a good first impression. As usual when I'm down in the So. Cal area I chilled with my boys from Kontradictions, and as usual we were up before the sun and headed out the door to gather their members together. With 2 stops and all vehicles in line, we rolled into the California Speedway shortly after 6am. Too much of my surprise, there were plenty of rides already in the show and many more in line to get in. Hell even a few of the Pleasures guys from Oklahoma drove in shortly after us. At this point getting up early was worth it as this was bound to be a hell of an event.After waiting in the long ass line to get in, the first thing that appeared would be the Ekstensive booth all the way from Houston, TX sporting their H2 body dropped on 26's. Seen it before, but this is the type of ride that every time you see it you are left in ah. Moving my way down the show to where Kontradictions was setting up I would pass by the Devious booth were they would be displaying Courtney Hallowell's Nissan Titan freshly body dropped. Now that is one sic ride! As the day went along I ran into tons of friends I hadn't seen in awhile to help pass the day. The set up of the show grounds was very walking friendly and made easy for photos to be taken. They had a live band through out the day with a kick ass bikini contest. After the girl's strutted their stuff it was off to the hop off where an EAI sponsored Toyota truck would bounce all over the place ending up on its side. Talk about getting some air, holly shit!All in all I'd have to say the guys at Severed Ties through a bad ass event, definitely a one day show you don't want to miss if you are in the area or looking for an excuse to hit the West Coast.By Garrick ArendsPhoto help by: Alec Whittington
