Jake called Clyde at Silver Star and told him he had always dreamed of building a new 02 Toyota Tacoma crew cab daily dragger. But see there was only one BIG problem Toyota only offered the crew cab 4-door version based on its ever-popular pre-runner and 4x4 chassis. So this left a big issue to be battled. First do you take it and try to get it to lay on pre-runner suspension or do you TOTALLY remove ALL of the pre-runner components and turn it into a creation that Toyota should have built from the start. Clyde decided that the best approach was to totally remove anything under the Taco that once resembled the factory pre-runner style suspension. Once the entire front end was removed the factory components of a 97 Taco donor were put into place. This allowed the Taco to take on a totally new looking life and a look that would change it forever. While the front end was tore down Clyde then used a pair of Firestone 2500 bags up front to ensure the truck would clear its new lo-profile rollers that it would receive once it was delivered to it's new owner. Now out back Clyde wanted to do something totally unique. Clyde started with a single 2600 Firestone bladder and decided to turn it into a custom mono-bag canti-lever design to allow the truck enough clearance in the rear. Clyde decided that while he was at it a 94 Toyota would donate it's rearend to the cause and allow the 4x4 prerunner suspension to be totally replaced with all 2wd components.

Now that the truck had made a total 180 in life, going from a once Taco Pre-runner into what now is a frame railing lower then life Mini, it was time to approach the next phase of the build up. Clyde turned his new creation over to the attention of SSC's paint guru William Stacks. Williams's first chore was to clean up the factory body and make the truck look custom. William took and shaved the back doors of their handles along with completely molding the tailgate into the body of the truck making it a permanent fixture.
