The way I see it...
North! And what does that mean? Well, it means that Christmas is over, finally, and that New Years celebrations have come and gone. I certainly hope that the Big Guy in Red hooked you up with everything you asked for! My house now looks like an ad for Little Tykes...LoL, but it's all good.
I also hope that everyone's New Year's Eve party's were smashing successes and that noone got irreparably injured or imprisoned. Mine was a wonderful night out with the beautiful lady that I married, I forgot how pretty she really is, working nights will do that to ya! I do know that some of my fellow Explicit Concepts members had a party and that certain things (I won't go into detail here, catch one of us in the chatroom for the scoop!) happened to a certain illustrious, well not illustrious but definitely colorful leader, that are surely going to end up in the annals of minitruckin's party history...
Now onto the fun stuff! Didja get a chance to use the winter to get started on a new project or new mods on your current one? I wanted to, but I need someone to take the D50 off my hands first! Did you map out your plans? I hope so, nothing is more fun than firing up the cutting torch, sawzall and the welder and goin' to town, but it really is a better idea to not jump in with both feet and a blind fold!
Planning what you want and how you want to go about it is really pretty easy. Take a couple minutes to sit and look at your project, whether it's a car, truck..hell, even a model, get an idea of what you want it to look like in your head. Now here is where technology comes in handy. Get a digital camera and take some pictures, and then, if you have it, get on PhotoShop or a similar program and start playing with it. Now if you're like me and are kind of computer illiterate or you just don't have that kind of program, find a buddy that does...this is a really simple way to get a visual idea of what you want to achieve.
Next you want to make a list of parts and tools that you'll need. Another good idea at this stage is to find someone that has already done the mod that you're planning to do. They can also help you out with any snags you might be facing and how to work around them.
As usual, I had some fun with my kids, and since it was recently my daughter's birthday (she's the BIG ONE!!) we went to Hooters with some friends and the kids. Now unbeknownst to me, kids eat free on Saturday's...this worked out great and saved me some money and was also the best way we could find to celebrate my last day of vacation. While at the restaurant, my daughter must have been having a sugar rush from her birthday cake because she was laughing and singing and carrying on, basically being the center of attention. When the young lady was taking our order, Savannah kept grabbing her badge (no comment from dad..;) so we asked her if she could bring her one...now we have a Hooters badge for her baby book!
The last thing that I have is something I want to bitch about. Recently, we had to purchase my wife a new pair of glasses, so we went to a chain store, let's call them EyeBastards, and were treated like crap. After 6 hours with a hungry 9 yr old, a whiny 1 yr old, 2 stores and 4 pair of glasses later, we finally had her glasses. moral of the story, EyeBastards blows goats!
Well folks, I am owt, so until next month, keep your wheels spinnin' and the beavers grinnin'!
