Some of the hardest things to do in this scene, aside building your ride, not selling your house to keep your ride, or not losing your girlfriend over your ride, is actually hosting a show to compete your ride in. I have to give props to Kondractions car club this past weekend for being able to throw their first show and do it successfully. Chris Comeaux and his crew stirred in all the right ingredients to draw a crowd and keep a crowd. What more can you ask for than a parking lot with an open pool hall, tattoo parlor, and roaming beer girls? The show kicked off early Sunday morning with roll in starting around 9:00 am. The weather was a perfect Texas winter day, overcast, cold and windy. But nevertheless, it didn't stop Kontradictions from filling a parking lot full of worthy rides. By the time judging started around noon, and with over 40 trophies to divvy up, they had their work cut out for them. While everyone was busy deciding who got what, everyone else had plenty to be entertained. Ernie and Skip of Wicked Ink tattoo opened their doors early to show off their talents and their never ending walls of work. Their day was kept busy as the show brought in one arm or leg after another. Next door, Q Bar and Billiards sent their girls on the prowl with ice cold beer and smiles. Aside the ink and the alcohol, several of our SSM gang and favorite clubs showed up to support Kontradictions.

Amanduh, Techy, Terra, and Bad Girl, met up with us Saturday night for dinner and to hang out. We met up with PhatFront, AhhBlah, and Tink the next day at the show to sit around and talk about how we should all start wearing SSM name tags to remember each other. Amanduh headed up the greeting party by keeping the beers coming. Acrophobia and Severed Ties were some of the clubs who showed their colors along with some of the independents who were more than willing to challenge the Katy police department in an "unofficial" burnout contest. Hate it when that happens. Chris and crew are already in the works of planning next years Winter Bash. Kontradictions threw one bad ass show this year, and I can't wait to see how next year's show turns out. Thanks to everyone who came out to support these guys and gals. And to everyone else, keep on rollin…. Photos by: Kevin McCanlies aka WkdwgnArticle by: Christina aka RlrGirl
