With the body needing much work, Tom decided to start working the exterior before anything else. With the dents pulled and panels replaced, Tom started upfront. The marker lights in the fenders, the door handles along with the side moldings would all be shaved to bring out a smooth appearance. The gas door would then be shaved and moved into the trunk jam. Next the taillights would be shaved and replaced with a set of 7-½ inch LED's to make things legal.

The trunk lid would also be smoothed inside and out for extra points. With the underside of the trunk lid being smoothed out, the same would have to go with the underside of the hood. To help finish things off, Tom decided to work in a couple of other modifications including the installation of a key pad into the drivers door along with shaving the antenna and hood squirters.
